Getting tile adhesive off a concrete floor

slapAnyone know how to get black adhesive (that kept tile down on a concrete floor) off the floor to prep for new flooring to be put down? My biggest problem is that I need to be able to use stuff I have around the house. I have no way to get to Lowe's or Home Depot to buy adhesive remover. It has to be done before Monday so the landlady won't see what I did!

Read this article...it says it's a nightmare, basically but can be done.
You may have found an answer already though.

Good Luck! That's really hard work and frustrating. Kudos to you for DIY !!!

  • concrete accessories sells a product called "vegas striper solvent remover" it works really well for that kind of adhesive or go to any concrete store in your area and ask for "paint striper B"....or a heavy duty grinder.

my husband does concrete as trade....
