Male dog or female dog?

Female, they seem more protective and calmer.

  • I have one of each, and the male is for sure more hyper! The female, well I call her an old hag, lol. She is my favorite of the two because she is like a mama to our son and she cuddles with me but she doesn't like people she doesn't know! She has never bitten anyone, nor would she, but she barks and will not shut up!

  • Doesn't matter. I really think each dog is unique and has they're own personality.

  • Both female and male can be protective and crazy and whooaaaaa...just all depends on the breed and how they are raised :)

  • Sure there are always exceptions but typically male dogs are larger than the female and seem to keep the puppy playfulness longer and crazier! Not saying that male dogs don't seem protective, just females seem to have better instinct with that.
We had a male dog and he would bark at anyone. The female we have now is a more subtle protective. She will give a low growl when someone walks by the house and bark if they get too close to us if she is suspicious of them.
But like everything else, there is always exceptions!!!!!!!!!
