Squash & Zucchini

I have a frozen bag of squash & zucchini in the freezer I am going to cook for dinner tonight. I usually just boil them and season them with some soy sauce, but I feel like trying something different tonight. How do you cook & season your squash & zucchini?

  • I love fried squash, but it takes some of the healthy out of it!

  • My favorite thing to do with them: Melt some butter in a skillet. Add a thinly sliced onion and saute until it begins to turn translucent. Then add the squash, turn to low, put a lid on it and simmer until it's tender. Delicious and you do not dilute the nutrients with any water whatsoever.

  • I sautee them in butter, then add sliced onions and sautee them some more. Then, I add a couple of cut up tomatoes and heat through. If I don't have fresh, then I use stewed.

  • Sauteed in a little olive oil and butter with some salt and pepper. Or tossed in with pasta. I never boil any veggies unless they are in soup.
