What are some tips for introducing a sippy cup to a baby

  • Put water in it, hold it up to baby like you would a bottle, maybe pretend to drink out of it yourself (or do drink out of it yourself) and let them go at it. I would take the no-leak spout out if there was one, just to show them that there was something inside, til they started sucking, then put it back in. Offer it at least once a day, just to practice with, and the earlier you intro it the better (6-7 months is prime time).

  • Soft spout is perfect! My son loved the NUK trainer cup and used it up unti recently (he's 13 months) The nuby is great but I think the NUK was best to start with because it's most like a bottle.

  • I have to go w/Anon on this one... BUT, I say start as soon as they are able to sit... We started around 4 mos.
