My mother drives me crazy, any suggestions?

Controlling, loving..I am the only daughter out of 4 kids, I've always gotten it harder, I know she loves me but she drives me nuts sometimes. HELP!

  • Gently but firmly set some boundaries and never ever ever stop loving her.

  • Be glad your mother loves you...mine doesn't really care(even abt her granddaughters). Maybe she just forgets that you're grown up and she can stop "mothering" so much now. ??

  • You have to have boundaries in your life, just like with your friends and coworkers.

  • I have to wonder if me and KellyGirl are related. My mother wants nothing to do with me,DH or our son. I understand it feels a little like being smothered, but I would give most anything to have my mother's genuine love, caring and attention if not for me, for my son.

  • Uness you give examples of what you mean by controlling, etc, I have no comment except that maybe you drive her crazy too? Just stop being so touchy and defensive with her and enjoy her while she still is alive and loving you. I think you are taking her for granted.
