  • Don't let them in. Say something like, "I'm sorry, I'm busy today and I don't have time for company. Maybe you can call and we can set up a time next (weekend/Tuesday/month/YEAR LOL) so we can visit. It's rude to come over without calling anyway, so if they say you are being rude for not letting them in, remind them of this little fact.

  • Oh, and if it's when your hubby is home, say something like, "We are having our own special night for the kids tonight" (I'd say family night, but then they'd argue that they're family, so don't use that phrase.)

  • I agree your dh should say something. But if he's like mine, he won't! I have had this problem too and finally started just telling them we were busy, we were about to walk out the door, something. It's taken a few years, but now they finally call before showing up.

  • i agree tell your dh to talk to them asap!!!! they need to call and ask before showing up!! if its just u home then dont answer the door take a shower. or tell them yourself if your dh wont.
