What is involved in a tubal ligation?

If I decide we're done and to go for the tubal, what can I expect? I have had three c-sections.

  • It was quick, only four bandages, a little sore the next few days. Wasn't a big deal.

  • If you're pregnant now, they'll do it while they're already in there for your c-section - no big deal. If you're not pregnant and just want to have it done, they'll put you out, make a small incision in your belly button, pump in some gas so they can find the tubes, pull them up one at a time, do the deed, let the gas out, and glue the incision - still not a big deal. I had mine done the day after my 5th vaginal birth.
