My 13mth old

I just changed my 13 mth old from formula to milk, and at first he had diarrhea for more then a week, now he is constipated, has anyone else had this happen to their child and whats the best way to help his constipation?

  • when we switched, we started off slow with the milk. Otherwise just make sure they get pleanty of fluids. Prunes also help with constipation

  • Don't completely switch all at once. Maybe only do one serving of milk per day and the rest formula. If it persists, maybe he's lactose intolerant

  • Every single dietary thing you change shows in their poop. It should adjust itself.

  • This happened with my 1 year old as well. His system just wasn't ready for the milk. I switched him back to formula for two months. Now he is 15 months and drinks milk like a champ. You may want to consider switching him back to formula for a while or only give him milk every other time.

  • what else does he eat? does his tummy hurt? I would try adding some more fiber in his diet, and or/ switching with soy milk,,good luck!
