Could my daughter do this?

My daughter Ali,10, has been asked to babysit a little girl across the street named Lyndon who is 2. I talked to the parents and they said that Lyndon was a little wild and cant controll her self sometimes. Ali says she can do it but I dont want her to go crazy if Lyndon goes crazy and wild and Ali cant controll her to where she cant do anything. What should I do?

  • Too young to babysit. Kids don't start doing that till age 12.

  • It may be legal, but,a 10 year old is too young to try to handle a very active 2 y/o by herself.

  • 10 is too young, and I'm pretty liberal on that stuff.
Have her take a first aid and babysitting course with red cross, and maybe if she is mature she will be ready next year.

  • That sounds WAY too young. Would you leave her alone at 10 by herself?

  • Mom, maybe you could be there as back up. Ali could do all the work, but she'd have you to fall back on. A good teaching moment for her.
