  • When we homeschooled we schooled year round (school days M-F) with 1 week off every 10 weeks and we started our school day at 9 & finished whenever they completed their last assignment. The length of their school day depended on how motivated they were. Some days that was a 6 hour day, some days that was a 4 hour day. It just depended.

  • This was one of my questions too. In Ohio, we're required to home-school for 900 hours. I guess it will depend on how our days go. How the kids are adjusting, etc. I figured 3 hours a day (give or take) will work. That doesn't include their gym, fine arts, and music outside of home.

  • I have twin girls that are home schooled. We typically take the summers off and do more hands on things like museums, libraries, zoo. They are continuing in gymnastics through the summer as well. During the school year we typically do a few hours a day, depending on how fast they pick something up. They are starting 6th grade next year, so we will probably up their schedule. We also take a winter and spring break. I love home schooling!
