How do I keep celery from going soft?

It seems to start to wilt after a couple of days.

  • In fact i JUST did that with my celery that was getting wilty. It will "drink" the water & firm right back up. It's a good idea to change the water about every 5 days, it will stay good for a long time this way.

  • rinse it under the tap and store it in the fridge (not crisper) in a sealed plastic bag. The same trick for lettuce. If you take it out every day or two and give it another rinse under the tap it stays fresh and crisp for ages.

  • cut it up & put it in some tupperware & fill it with water. It will stay good & firm for weeks like that.
