Illegal immigrants

What do you think should happen?

Keep the illegal parents b/c they have "natural born citizen" children and let them use welfare?
-OR-
Deport illegal mom and pop putting kids in foster care when the parents are other wise willing and able to care for them?
-OR-
Deport the whole family to keep them together allowing kids to retain citizenship?

Not bashing-curious.

Edit

Okay, so some of you have said that not all illegals use welfare. What do you call it when they take advantage of tax-funded things like schooling, medicaid, or WIC? We as citizens get taxed and so have "paid" for those services. I will call any and all tax funded projects welfare because, for them, it's a handout.

  • I am torn between:
Deport the entire family but allow the children to keep dual citizenship until the age of 18 when they can choose their legal home.
    or
Deport the entire family on the grounds that the parents were not legal citizens meaning the children should also be legal either.

  • i would deport the whole family.... that is why they make sure they have a baby born here right away because they feel that will prevent them from being deported.

  • What does England or Canada do? If I were over there and had a child, would my child now be a citizen?

We should adopt whatever poilcy works for other countries.

  • Deport the family together. And, revise the 14th Amendment so that a child born on American soil is NOT automatically granted citizenship if the parents are here illegally.

  • Breaking the law should NOT be rewarded. Send them all home with a hospital bill ~ and if they get caught a second time put them in jail for theft of goods and services.

Why are so many illiterate people being passed through grade after grade and allowed to graduate high school? What part of illegal ~ or it's meaning ~ is so difficult to comprehend? Why do we allow our federal gov't. to ignore it's own laws when WE are all expected to obey them AND pay not only their salaries, but fines if we break the law?

Do it right. Come here legally ~ and come here because you want to be an American.

  • Not all illegal immigrants are on welfare...that assumption makes the whole debate invalid.

  • After birth the parents get the choice to go home with their baby or they can go home without their baby. If they want their child to grow up in the U.s. then they can turn them over to the state to be adopted or give them to a legal relative to be adopted.

So, by not being on welfare you validate that the illegal immigrants are either working under the table (not legal) or off the books (also not legal). How many laws are they willing to break?

Personally I think they should not get GOV. aide at all. But they do. So if the government allows them to stay then they also have to allow for aide because they could barely earn a living LEGALLY.
