1 Bump

While breastfeeding, is this normal?

Two separate times while feeding my daughter, she pulled off of my nipple and I sprayed her all in the face. It was like two or three separate streams spraying in all different directions. It was like a water sprinkler or something. I felt so bad about spraying my little one like that. Is this normal, though?

  • I think it happens when you produce "too much" milk...I've been doing it too...my Dr said it was called hyperlactation...so yeah I'm thinking it's pretty normal =)

  • Yes, quite normal.
It's not like a nozzle with one spout. There are a few holes...
I know~ it looks funny! lol
But that is how it works.
    ;-)

And it sounds like some pressure behind that suction / forceful letdown reflex helped things along--

Breastmilk is REALLY healthy for the skin, eyes, infections, and sooo much more~ so it balances out for any upset you might've causes, hehe.
    ;-P
