Being a newly wed... we started off doing everything together and its been 2 mths so far.

Now he wants to change it up and do just seperates like working out and store visits.

He was so jealous in the beginning, we did everything together.

Do I wifely accept this change, if not then he thinks I don't trust him but we know .... men need us

  • Does he want to do everything separately or a couple of things? Everyone needs their space and their own identity, even newlyweds

  • Let him do his separates. Just make sure he goes to bed with you only every night.

  • Being joined at the hip doesn't last forever. There are things that you will do separately all your lives. That's not a "wifely" issue (sorry, I hate that term) but a "sensible adult" issue.

They do say absence makes the heart grow fonder, you know.

BUT... the jealousy thing raises HUGE RED FLAGS. Someone who cannot trust their spouse to do things on their own should NOT be married.

  • You need to strike a balance.  It is very healthy to have your own separate interests, however you also need interests and activities together.  It is important to start now because when you face the empty nest you don't want to be looking at each other from across the room and thinking "now what"?
