  • I'm torn. Wood looks nicer but to me but carpet feels warmer and is quieter. My mom had carpet forever and recently got wood with area rugs through most of her house and it's so noisy now, you can hear every little noise even from the other end of the house now. I think we're going going to get wood and just deal with the noise as soon as we can afford it because our carpet is so gross and so hard to keep clean.

  • I've lived in houses with both, and having a 5 year old, a baby on the way, and 2 dogs, I can honestly say that I'm VERY glad that the house I live in now has hardwood. It's so much easier to clean. Especially when it comes to the dogs shedding all the time. And I don't have to worry about stains on the carpet.

  • Carpet even though I hate to vacuum. I don't like the sound of hardwood floors.

  • Hardwood floor because you can't get any stains in that

  • I replaced my carpeting with hardwood ... it's cleaner and healthier and more beautiful.
