Has anyone heard of scrapping the membrane sac to induce labor?

how is it done and is it dangerous for mom and or baby??

  • It's kinda like a regular vaginal exam. The OB just pokes around up there and tears the sac. It hurts a little and you might spot but that is normal. I had it done and 3days later my son was born. It worked for me but it does not work for everyone.

  • My Doctor did this 3x with my last pregnancy-it hurts!! Oh yeah it didn't help either, but I have heard of it inducing labor in other people.

  • Oh how is it done? Your Doctor will just use her/his hand and be very agressive down there. I have a great Doctor so I am pretty sure this will not hurt baby.
