Can you purchase e-books and read them on your computer if you don't have a kindle or similar reading device?

  • I just got the Kindle App. It's free, just go to Amazon and get it. Then you can download their kindle books right to it.

  • Yes, you can! There is a Kindle PC free download for Kindle books, and I believe Nook has a pc ereader, too.

    MANY books that you can download are .txt or .pdf files that you can read without a separate program at all.
