  • Sounds as though it is braxton hicks..your body getting ready for labor. I would suggest taking a warm bath..if they go away, it is BH. Drink plenty of water..sometimes dehydration causes cramping.

  • I would say they sound like BH or extreme gas pains (which is crazy but I had them). If you are stressing about them, you should call your doctors office.

  • Braxton Hicks contractions get stronger as you get further along. It's very common for them to be quite painful in the final weeks and often women confuse them with the real thing if they are strong enough. Real contractions will not go away no matter what you do. Braxton Hicks can be stopped by taking a warm shower, drinking lots of water, getting rest, and or changing positions (walking if you lying down, lying down if you were walking, etc). They can also be brought on by over exerting yourself. Real contractions will be steady and will grow closer together. BH will be irregular and may not get closer. If you have ANY concerns that your contractions are real labor and it is before 37 weeks then call your OB or Midwife without hesitation regardless of the time of day or night. Better off waking them from a sleep than have your baby preterm. Good luck!
