  • Thats nothing! I was in labor with my 1st for 18 hours, but I've known women who have been in labor for 24 hours.

  • I don't personally, I had very quick labors will all of my children. I do have a friend who was in labor for 42 hours..she did end up having the baby vaginally in the end, although she was exhausted and with her second she opted for a C-section!

  • My mom was in labor for 36 hours and they asked her if she wanted to wait a few more hours to see if any dilation might still occur. She screamed to get this baby out of her NOW!! lol

  • 14 hours seems like an average... Mine from 1st contraction to delivery were 5.5 hours, 14.5 hours, 4.5 hours, and I was told they were all "fast"

  • With my first I was in labor 13 hours. It was horrible and my dr told me after that if they had known how big he was they would have done a csection - he was only 8 lbs 9 oz but they had to break his shoulder to get him out and my episiotomy hurt forever, they cut once and then had to go back and cut a 2nd time when he was stuck.
