How old can you stop giving babies the baby food out of the jar?

my son is 10 months old and he loves the baby finger food and wont eat any of the baby food out of the jar. i was just wondering if i can stop giving it to him or not???

  • You never needed the jar food, actually. If they need purees, it's too early for solids.

    Dump the jars. Have fun!

  • i stopped baby food at 8 months and switched to table food (not mashed up or blended).last night she had rotini pasta with tomatoes and zucchini (same as what we had.) she stood next to me as i was sitting on the couch and i fed her from my plate.....she's 10 months btw

  • never lol. my dd started her first food at 9 months, and that was table food. but he's 10 months, so yeah mom, get him on table food.

  • My first son ate purees from 5 months until 10 months when he started eating table foods cut up into small pieces. My second son would scoul at all pureed baby food and didn't eat anything other than BM until 9 months when I started giving him finger foods.

  • Mine was eating solid, table foods at 8 months old. He rarely ate jarred babyfood before that. There is no reason a 10 month old can't have tablefood, cut in small pieces.

  • We never really did jarred foods, never did purees, just table food cut up really small or mashed with the back of the fork.
