You need to watch what you eat, and you need to be doing exercise that gets your heart rate up. Running, cycling, swimming, spinning, aerobics classes, exercise videos that actually get your heart rate up (ie Jillian Michaels, Jackie Warner, Insanity, P90X, etc) are all great. You also need to be doing resistance training, not just on your legs, to build lean tissue, which burns more calories than fat does. I've lost 63 lbs so far through exercise and eating clean. I'd highly recommend giving it a go! Also, here is more weight loss advice that might help you out. Good luck!!
