I am out of toothpaste, will brushing with.... work?

I am out of toothpaste, will brushing with mouthwash work for a day or two until I can get to the store?

  • My oral surgeon recommends baking soda. Its ok to use if they are your teeth. (Don't use baking soda on dentures, though!)

  • my dentist even suggested brushing with baking soda and its on the back of the box..i seriously doubt they would advertise something that could get them into trouble!

  • Ehhh... it's better than nothing. The brush will do a lot of the work.

    But do you have any baking soda? A tiny bit of baking soda on a damp brush is FANTASTIC for brushing teeth!

  • you don't really need toothpaste to get your teeth clean!!! THe floride just helps protect your teeth and the minty is, well, minty! ;) You can just brush with water, floss, and rise with mouthwash if desired. You can also brush with baking soda....gross, but effective.

  • don't brush with baking soda. at least not more than once. baking soda is so abrasive that it will scrub the enamel right off your teeth. you'll be ok brushing with mouthwash. just make sure you've very thorough
