How do you stay healthy while traveling?

Whenever we go out of town we usually end up eating out at cheap, fast places. I end up feeling like crap because of the grease. How can we travel and have healthy meals.

  • Pack fresh fruit and bottled water in a cooler. Also, whenever you get to your destination, go to the grocery store and pick up a few things for breakfast and lunch. Try to eat out only once a day.

  • I definitely drink alot of water, staying hydrated is my number one goal! I also try to have a fresh healthy breakfast (fruit, eggs, toast or bagel). I also limit greasy fast food to 3 meals a week, If I must eat out I go for subway, quiznoes, or Panera ect. When we are in the car I have fruit, cheese, stuff for sandwiches, goldfish, nuts, fun snacks (M&M's or tiny candy bars), crackers, spray cheese (not healthy but easy to eat in the car). Just so we have munchy things that I can control the calories I'm eating. We also eat a sit down meal every day. I frequently rent condos' and seek ones with grills (grilled veggies, fish, chicken, ect).

  • We pack an ice chest with bread, pb&j, fruit, water, string cheese......We usually rent a house or condo so when we get there we go grocery shopping and prepare our own food.
