Vitamin D Drops -- are they necessary with Formula?

When I was breastfeeding my daughter I had to give her Vitamin D drops daily. Apparently she was not getting the Vitamin D she needed from the breastmilk. I just switched her to formula today. Are these drops still necessary with formula?
