Homemade Baby Food?

Has any one made there own Baby food for there babies? I did not for my first born but I am doing it for this one. Just wondering if anyone has any good/easy recipies for me? I pretty much feed her what we are eating just want other ideas!

  • I cook carrots peas green beans sweet potatoes then mash them up and make the baby food. When im done i freeze it so i can use it later.

  • freezing is a great idea.. use ice cube trays so you dont have to thaw out too much at a time (an old tip from my mom) and I actually use canned fruits so that I dont have to peel them!!I havent started with veggies yet tho, but i do have a great 1/4 size blender that makes really good sized portions.. just enough for 1 or 2 feedings. It's made by black and decker

  • I did. I used the book Super Baby Foods by Ruth Yaron. It's a wonderful book and full of recipes from beginning to eat through the toddler years.

  • We didn't do any processed baby foods. Everything we made or she just ate what we were eating. is a GREAT resource!

  • I always made sure to some cooked rice or oatmeal. If we didn't have rice with our meal, I would add either to the meat and veggies that I made. It is a great thickener and filler. Have you ever looked at the ingredients on the label of baby food? They always include rice or oatmeal.
