  • Your doctor will not induce you until you are at least 39 weeks along so your baby will fully develop. If you go into labor naturally before then you can deleiver your baby any time now! Its not weird for a preggo momma to be dilated at 1cm for up to 3 weeks before going into labor. So really you are right on the money! Congrats little mama!!!!

  • Just adding, it's normal to be up to 42 weeks pregnant. You are given a due date because that's in between 38 and 42 weeks (the range in which most women give birth naturally). It's not an eviction notice though, so let that little one cook as long as they want. Induction can cause a lot of unnecessary issues in labor/delivery.

I know it's hard to be patient once you hit that 9th month, but hang in there :)

  • They don't just induce people. If they are concerned they usually wait a little after forty weeks.

  • You could be dilated to 1 for weeeeeeks. That means nothing. Don't worry, your body will do it's thing when it's time.

  • What would you induce for??
Is there more to your situation, you can fill us in.

Induction is something done when baby is safer outside than in.
No reason to add risks for Normal Stuff.

  • Depends on your laboring.

If you are contracting "4-1-1" then you might consider going in...
No reason to check the cervix (not helpful!), just watch what contractions are doing.
...But it also depends on the kind of birth experience you want and how close you are to the hospital.

  • I was dialated at a 1 for 2 weeks and then at a 2 for 1 week before my water broke 1 day before my due date. Acutally I had 2 dates, Sept. 17th and Sept. 19 and dd was born on the 18th LOL
