Do you think its normal that a 7 year old doesn't like to play with toys.. or play outside.. all they want to do is watch tv??

this isn't about my child.. just wondering I have noticed that they don't like to do anything but sit on their butt and watch tv.. it is really sad.. when I was a kid you couldn't keep me in the house..

  • It is very unhealthy to raise your children like that! I like my tv, and my son likes to watch cartoons and movies but he would much rather go to the park! It is hard living in a high rise tower, we can't just go out whenever, but we try to make it out to the park at least a couple times a week!

  • It is very sad, and a big part of the childhood obesity problem.

  • Children get like that if their parents have always sat them in front of the TV and never had any rules around it. Its really unhealthy and it is sad :(

  • I agree.. I try to intervene.. but it doesn't do much good.. I am sure you are right.. that's how she was raised..it is sad.. I feel bad..
I remember crying when it rained because I couldn't play outside.. and I had such an active imagination... I am gonna make damn sure my DD isn't like that.. she is gonna enjoy the outdoors as much as I do.. and I am gonna make damn sure she has an imagination! :)
