about 6 months old.. it's recommened to start cereal first.. (a week of each kind).. then move on to jarred food. Start with one jar a day stage one.. veggies. one veggie per week.. then try a new one, then move on to fruits.. hold off on meats until 9 months minimum or skip the stage one meats all together (they are pretty nasty anyways, lol). after stage ones, move to stage twos.
6-7 or 8 months, try to keep it to one or two jars a day max.. 8-12 you can slowly moveup to three, although no more than that is needed.. You can do finger food snacks though like cheerios or gerber puffs etc.. by then
