Do you agree with Obama's Chief of staff?

White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley took heat from business executives Thursday for the Obama administration’s regulatory expansions. Daley also said he didn’t have any good answers for some of what President Obama is doing and expressed frustration about the “bureaucratic stuff that’s hard to defend.”

“Sometimes you can’t defend the indefensible,” Daley said at a National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) meeting.

Daley couldn’t answer basic questions and continually faced criticism from the executives in the room. The business leaders even applauded each other’s criticism of the administration. “At one point, the room erupted in applause when Massachusetts utility executive Doug Starrett, his voice shaking with emotion, accused the administration of blocking construction on one of his facilities to protect fish, saying government ‘throws sand into the gears of progress,’” wrote Peter Wallsten and Jia Lynn Yang in the Washington Post.

Americans for Limited Government Communications Director and former Labor Department Public Affairs Chief of Staff Rick Manning told The Daily Caller that Daley’s inability to defend Obama’s regulations is an indication that the administration’s plans aren’t working. Manning also points out that Daley’s meeting may have large political implications.

  • I wonder how long he'll be chief of staff? Maybe he should have borrowed the teleprompter so he could remember the talking points of the day.

  • Yes I do, I sure would have to be the one to try to defend all the anti-business policies that Obama has come up with.

We need to vote him out before he does much more damage to this great country before it is too late

If he isn't stopped soon it won't be reversible..

  • DSameuels,

Daley should hide that teleprompter, without it Obama would not be able to fire him.

  • Its too bad that regulatons were eliminated a few decades ago. If you don't know why Regulations in Finance are so important, try watching this DVD "Inside Job" and you will be horrified at what Wall Street and Banks did to all of us due to the lack of regulatory safeguards!

  • He might remain employed longer if he uses the teleprompter DSamuels, but I prefer at least some smidgen of honesty from this admin. In fact, I'm sorry that he'll likely take heat because of his honesty.

Natemom, as it stands right now, without a vastly different president coupled with a vastly different congress, a lot of this mess will take years to unravel and set right again. That bunch isn't going to just have to be very different, they are going to have to be willing to set policy and write laws to make sure that NO congress can keep doing this crap and getting away with it. The next few years are the turning point ~ and I doubt they are going to be easy for most people.

Actually deregulation has not occurred. The progressive president Bush increased regulations. The federal Register (the government book of regulations on the markets) increased under Bush nearly 15 thousand pages of new regulations were added.

Inside job is a Hollywood work of propaganda.

I just wonder if you guys are intoxicated most of the time or have dyslexia or just make a lot of bad guesses and pretend you know what is going on.

    Good luck with that.....
