Junket mixes-any one tried them?

My mother gave me a few boxes of these. The ice cream mix and the general tablets. Apparently one tablet can make up to 4 cups of custard. Also can make cheese, yogurt and puddings.
My mother had this as a child and loves it (so this would be the 1940s) and is glad it is back on the market. I've never had it and so am a bit leery about it. Also I'm not all that clear what rennet is.
Anyone out here have used them?

  • Rennet is used to make cheese. It is an enzyme which traditionally comes from the stomach of a young milk fed calf, lamb or goat. I have heard of junket. I have never used it or, to my knowledge, eaten anything it was used in.
