Fathers day-no budget???

My husband and I have found ourselves living paycheck to paycheck after a hard unexpected winter. We were both laid off. Well its fathers day and I don't have much money. What are some cheap ideas the kids and I can do for this wonderful father?

  • I got some of the Crayola clay and had each of the kids make something and paint it... DS made a cup, ODD made a flower, and YDD made a "plate" (it's only 4 inches, but she's only 15 months, so she couldn't really make anything, she just painted it)

  • Make a card, draw pictures, have the kids make him a coupon book with things like "free car wash" or "10 minute shoulder massage"

  • We had NO money for Mother's Day this one or last. I know this is about Father's Day but same difference :) I was more than happy with a day of a family movie with popcorn, playing outside, going for a walk, just spending the day being a Mommy. Besides the family movie, the TV was off. We also danced to music.

I had a blast just having a family day. Maybe you can do the same for your DH? Besides, it is what Fathers/Mother's day is all about!
