  • Does she have any special piece of jewelry? A ring or necklace?

  • Why do you have to impress her?
Give her a gift card and let her pick out some clothes. That's what we got our oldest for Christmas.
She turns 11 on the 28th and we're just getting her a game for her new 3ds (that my dad got her). Just 1 game so $40. That's from the entire family--us and her 4 siblings.
We don't spoil our kids and they are limited to how much they get for birthdays (usually $30-$50 for a gift depending, normally we'd only get her older games for $15 but since she just got the new DS we'll spend a little more).

  • If she is already spoiled I wouldn't contribute to it by buying lots of stuff. I would give her a birthday card with a gift card to her favorite store. You shouldn't have to impress a 11daughter yr old.

  • Does she like to do things with her hair?
My friend & I created an online store, and we've also given my younger sister a bow and she just fell in love with it!

  • Maybe something very different from the usual stuff would work. My daughter recently got a membership to an online website called Always Icecream. She loves to play in the virtual world there and I think she is raising about 6 virtual pets at the moment. She also has a virtual home that she loves to decorate. The site has a feature that allows Always Icecream girls to interact with each other through comments, game reviews and pet babysitting. And best of all, in order to play with all that fun stuff in Miniworld, the girls play fun quiz style games in math, geography, typing, science and more to earn "scoops" that they then "spend" in Miniworld. So it's educational too! My daughter loves it and not too many people know about it, so it would be a unique gift! There is a free trial available at www.alwaysicecream.com and a special birthday membership for $29.99 at www.birthdaygifts4girls.com/age-11.
