How do you clean your microwave?

I usually place a soaked sponge in for 30minutes and then wipe.

Open to more suggestions though.

  • 30 minutes or 3 minutes?

I put a sponge sprayed thoroughly in cleaning solution in for 5 minutes. Once the sponge is cool enough to handle, I wipe everything down.

I think this is the best way. Once when I was younger & stupider, sprayed the inside of the microwave directly & it damaged it. Lesson learned!

  • A cup with water and 1/2 fresh lemon on high for about 5 mins and any dried-on food splashes should wipe off and it smells really fresh.

  • I do the vinegar as well. Heat it up in the microwave for a minute, then use it and a sponge and go to town. Warm vinegar doesn't smell that good, but it sure cleans wonderfully.
