A question about lactation - how long does it take to 'dry-up'?

I stoped breast feeding my son well over 2 years ago. And yet if I squeeze my nipple I will still get a drop or so of milk from it - I might be able to get more, I've haven't tried.
Is this normal? How long does it take for milk to fully dry up?

  • Yes it's normal. You'll probably notice you can get more out around the time of your period. It's just hormones. I still could squeeze some out 7 years after I had my daughter. Usually it's no more than a drop or so.
