Her dad just passed away

Not sure where to start... But i will make this simple....

My fiance just passed away, was her dad.....SHE will be getting Social Security...

He SUPPOSEDLY, has a nother child... Which we havent not seen very much. long story short, There is no prove he is the father (which we believe he isnt), he does not have his last name or on the birth certificate, Is it possible that she can get SS too? There is more to this story, but didnt wanna post it all..
