British Lit?

I would love to read some classics from this genre but can't get into them. What would be a good start? It took me 4 months to read Great Expections,I found it boring but refused to give up

  • What period do you like? My fav is anything from Jane Austen. But that is such a typical answer. She is the best.

  • I too would recommend Jane Austen - try Northanger Abbey.

From a different Period - Graham Greene is worth a read; Kinglsey Amis too/ as are MArgaret Drabble and Ken Follet.

  • Jane Eyre is my favorite, I love Jane Austen, too. Typical, but a good place to start.
