  • My daughter just went in for her 9 month check up today. The dr. checked her over (height, weight) and asked me a bunch of questions about her developement (if she was crawling/walking, if she was able to sit up by herself, ect.). Then the dr. gave me a perscription for the lab so my daughter could have some blood drawn. My dr. does a screening for anemia and lead at around 9-10 months. Some places just prick fingers or heels, but the lab I went to actually took it from her arm. It must've not hurt her that bad, though, because she didn't even flinch :P

  • There's no shots on the 9 month check up, maybe a flue shot but none of the other vaccines..But anyway they just do the usual, check their weight, height all that good stuff just to see if they are growing the way they should.

  • They may ask if you want to get a flu shot for him.

  • It all depends on your pedi's vaccine schedule. He may get shots, maybe not. They usually do a heel/toe prick for blood to check iron levels around this time.

  • It depends on if your little one has missed any shots, they can use this check up as sort of catch up for the shots that were missed.
