Side dish help

I'm not much of a cook and am looking for some tasty side dishes.. grilled side dishes would be great too for ideas. Or salad (like mac. or potato salads).. different potato like sides.. or pasta like sides would be great too..
(no onions or make sure it's a dish you can omit onions on please, lol).

(sorry accidentally closed out the other question)

  • German potato salad. Basic pasta salad (pasta, corn, peas, beans-I prefer black beans) and then choose the flavor by adding any salad dressing (red wine vinegrette & italian are liked by most). Sliced Potatoes with olive oil, parsley, salt, pepper (just make an aluminum foil packet and toss them on the grill or oven for about 30-45 min....can also be done with sweet potatoes. Grilled corn on the cob (just clean fresh corn, brush with galic/herb infused olive oil & grill). Grilled pineapple (yummm).

  • Grilled asparagus. Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper and grill. In a foil packet, put sliced potatoes, carrots and butter, salt and pepper. I sometimes add parm cheese and garlic. Fold into a packet and grill for about 45-60 minutes.

Pasta salad: rotini noodles, broccoli, cucs, cheese, pepperoni, grape tomatoes, salt, pepper and any kind of ranch dressing.

Chicken salad: rotini noodles, chunk chicken, halved grapes, mayo, salt and pepper. Slivered almonds.
