I'm 21, we're pregnant with our first, due around Thanksgiving. It wasn't planned but at first we were so happy. Now my boyfriend is CONSTANTLY stressed out and scared about money and we've talked about adoption because of it. What has been your experience with a scared husband/boyfriend and also money issues. I have anxiety and depression too so this is NOT helping.

  • Many men go through this. Don't make any drastic decisions now. Let him process this. He'll be better by Thanksgiving. He just has to get used to the idea.

  • I have no experince, but in my opinion, do what is best for you. Dad's run off all the time. This is your child and you will deal with he or she even if your boyfriend jets.

  • I agree with both of the above.

  • We were the same way initially and talked to a lot of other people who were parents to an unplanned baby and we realized that it was super common to feel that way because of the shock. All the people we talked to ended up perfectly fine, struggled at times but always got through it and so did we and keeping our son was the best choice for us. Good luck!

  • If YOU want to keep the baby, do that. Putting the baby up for adoption will not make him stay. Keeping the baby will not make him leave unless he was going to anyway. A little known fact: 80% of women who give a child up for adoption never have another child. What if this is your only child. Do you really want to lose him or her forever? You will end up taking care of the child primarily anyway. Don't give up the baby to please him, you may well regret it.
