Does your state do this too?

In MI our flags are flown at half mast everytime a soldier is killed. Does every state do this?

Also, is there a penalty for not participating?

  • In NM the entire state does this out of respect and as far as I know no one has ever went against it.

  • They do that where I live but it isn't mandatory and there isn't a fine. The Government buildings do it and everyone else gets to decide. Not all business owners are going to know about every soldier that dies in the state at all times.
