Weightlifting how many times a week?

  • I do weights/resistance 6 mkil bdays a week...but not the same thing 2 days in a row. I do upper body on Mon, Wed, Fri and lower body on Tues, Thurs, Sat.

  • How many times should you, or how many times do we?

    I know when you're doing it, you need to give your body a chance to rest.

    Personally, I do weights up to 5 or even 6 days a week, but I vary so one day I'll do arm exercises, the next leg/core... I probably usually only do 10-20 minutes of weights.

  • I do a full body circuit 3x a week with dumbbells, barbells etc. I run, so I do strength training on the days I don't run

  • You should have at least 48 hours between sessions on the same muscle groups, but you can work out up to 5 or 6 days a week. A day of rest should be part of any exercise regiment.

  • i do it 5 days a week, every time I do my cardio. Because you burn more when you weigh lift along with cardio.

  • I agree with musicpisces. You can lift every time you work out, basically - but not the same muscle group. I like to do legs one day, back/biceps another day, triceps/chest another day, rest day/cardio only day, then start the rotation over again. I do abs every other day, no matter what. I HATE doing abs......especially the exercises where you statr out on the ground - it makes me never want to get up. LOL
