  • I think mine started using spoons around 18 months, but didn't get proficient until around 24 months. They both started to use a fork around 11-12 months. They are now 2 1/2 and 5.

  • I remember my daughter eating yogurt out of the container by herself on her first birthday. Container in one hand, spoon in the other. Everyone was shocked. She was great at things like that. My boys were a little older, I really don't remember!

  • I don't really remember with my older 3. I know my youngest daughter was around 16 months when she started consistently eating her cereal and soup with a spoon. We had these cool spoons, though, that had curved handles and holes in them (to let the liquid drip out which sucked the food to the spoon's surface). By 18 months she could use any kind of spoon. I know she did it way earlier than my other kids because she wanted to be a big kid like them. She's done everything early as she she's tried to catch up to them (she's 5 now).
