  • Good when they are babies because it helps prevent SIDS but bad when a 3 yr old is still walking around with one

  • Good if the baby likes them :)

  • I used one with all three of my girls. It really helped to calm them down when fussy, also a lifesavor whenever we had to fly or drive through mountains for their ears. I see nothing wrong with them.

  • They're out of my baby's face when baby starts walking. Also, my children are not allowed to walk around with a bottle... and we went straight from bottles to cups with a straw. No need for 3yos still sucking on a bottle, no need for a 12yo to take a pacifier.

  • I think it really depends on whether the parents want their child to have one or not.

I think they are good and bad. They comfort your child when they are smaller..but if you can't break them of it, it would be bad. If they suck on one too long, their teeth may become bucked. Another good thing, if they choose the pacifier, they have a less likely chance of choosing the thumb. The pacifier can always be taken away at any time, but the the thumb is there for life.

I'm not saying that every child will choose the pacifier or the thumb because I have 3 children.. one took a pacifier & two didn't & none of them ever sucked their thumb. I chose to give all three of my children a pacifier when they were born, but two of them just didn't want it..which is fine with me.... One less thing to break them of! =)

  • they are the best thing when their young, Evil when they spot them and put them in their mouth when your trying to wean them off of them.

  • I think they are great and wish that my second and third little ones had taken them rather than finding their thumbs.

  • Good! But I always take them away around 6-9 months. Toddlers with pacifiers drive me crazy!
