  • coloring, crafts, make a tent! My kids love when we make a tent on a rainy day. :) Sometimes we will make a tent and have a picnic lunch in it on a rainy day. :)

  • Balloons can buy you HOURS. A beach ball can be good, too, because it's light and won't do much damage. Movies can be alright here and there, you can put on some music and dance together. Coloring is fun for kids, and you can do other things while they do that if you keep them nearby. There are plenty of ways to keep busy! =)

  • is there an indoor playground nearby? We have a couple of them here (Oregon) and they are genius! Also some fast food chains have indoor play areas too.

Museums, forts, crafts, bubble-baths w/bath paint & crayons/markers - although at 17 months that might be too 'old' for him.

  • AH... not just rain as you had said... but a "storm"... totally different.
