After months of looking for the perfect house the perfect house found us

we were getting to the point of giving up on buying a house, then yesterday a woman from HUD called yesterday and asked if we were wanting to buy a house in this particular neighborhood. i said yeah so she sent out an app, we got it today and got to give back to her friday with the app fee. (its just 15 to do a background check) i been wanting a house in this neighborhood, but none would ever come up. the program is basicly rent to own and after 10 years the house is ours, and the rent includes mortgage taxes and insurance. the "rent" there is 200 less than what we pay for a duplex but the utilities run about the same. this house is the same as my duplex all electric. the only downside is its 400 sq ft smaller. but the private yard will make up for that. its in a culdsac(sp?) and this house is at the very end so only local traffic. going to be great to let the kids ride their bikes on the raod without the fear of gettin hit or they can go out to the backyard without me hoovering over them since the neighborhood is safe and no sex offenders. where im at now i have a group home that houses 14 sex offenders and a few of them are violent, one guy stabbed a 14 boy to death a few years ago. scary!!! and best part 3 of my friends live in this culdasac and their kids are the same age as mine and already friends. everything is going too smoothly, it never comes this easy for me, just waiting for something to mess up. thoughts?

  • not going to be much relaxing lol my husband is going to be working the next 16days straight double shift just to make sure we have enough $ to cover any surprise expenses... and Afronz yes its about time for a break. we been here almost 4 years and are ready to move, the duplex itself is nice its just the neighborhood and the nasty people who live here. the landlord raised rent every 2 yrs so its to the point where we are living paycheck to paycheck and it shouldnt be that way. the 200 a month that we will save will be a blessing. we will be able to afford other stuff, of course that other stuff would be finishing the basement in that house, only thing we have to do is frame off rooms, put up drywall and put in flooring then hire someone for the electrical stuff. my husband has a co worker who has a husband who is an electrician and does private contracts.
