What would be a good menu to serve at a wedding reception?

I'm getting married but I just wanted a few ideas in what to serve at my wedding. Besides finger foods in the month of september. Any suggestions?

  • Our wedding was in September also. We had fish, prime rib, and chicken alfredo...sides were red skin potatoes, sauted garden vegetables, salad and rolls.

  • You could do an Italian themed buffet with lots of pasta, salads and a couple different sauces. Red sauce, Alfredo sauce, meat sauce. You could to a picnic type buffet with rolls/croissants with different meats and cheeses in them, fillings like lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayo, mustard, Dijon then have a pasta salad or potato salad and a toss salad. You could do a light dinner with grilled/baked marinated chicken breasts, wild rice, salad and whatever else. To go with the main dishes you could have fruit and veggie platters, rolls, olives, pickles....punch, water. For my wedding reception we had chicken and beef shiskabobs with just a lot of misc faves on the side :) Good luck and congrats! xo
