My daughter is scared of the new school year

she is on the autism spectrum and changes affect her badly, new teachers this year harder school work and she knows if she passes this year that she will have to go to middle school where the dog she works with will not be there and neither will the counselors. is there anything i can do to help her and ease her fears.she is going into 5th grade

  • can your new school she is ging to go to let her vists her class room she will go to and her new teacher
    my step son dose not cope well with change so a few week before summer holiday the set up and meet and great he meet his new teacher and see his new class room and they give him a photo of his class room and him with his new teacher to take home to look at over the holiday . maybe something like taht will help her as she know where she going and have meet the teacher may help her seel better maybe even a little tour so she can see where things as and photo of say the lunch room and stuff

  • Can you take her there to go on a personal tour of the school? Maybe get her to meet some of the staff?

  • also some kids find getting new stuff help do if it will help your daughter such as new bag, pencals and pencal case
    i find it help my ss once school over to take him to buy his new school stuff as it help him feel happy about going as he want to take and use his new stuff
