Rum Fruit Cake

I'm not much of a cook, can I take a store bought fruit cake & soak it in a little rum & it not fall apart? Or does anyone have a VERY simple recipe?

  • There is no 'simple' way to make fruit cake. I know a lady who did the bought fruitcake and drizzled rum on it. The problem is you need to have started it weeks ago to get the desired effect by christmas.

  • try mixing a tablespoon of rum in a 1/4 cup of dark Karo syrup, pour over the cake, let it sit overnight, then repeat, using less syrup to pour on the cake.
