Does anyone have a really good recipe for CLam Chowder?

I'd like to use a slow cooker recipe, but I'd be grateful for anything you guys have.

  • 2 TBSP veg. oil
    3/4 cup chopped onion
    1/2cup chopped celery
    1cup diced carrots
    2 cups raw, diced pota toes, peeled & cubed
    3 LBS fish, 3/4 " cubes (you can use cod or haddock, if desired.
    1/4 tsp thyme
    1/2 tsp. paprika.
    2 cups bottled clam juice
    1/4 cup flour
    3 cups non-fat milk
    Cook the onions & celery in the oil approx 3 min.Add clam juice, carrots, potatoes and fish, bring to boil, simmer 15 minutes. REMOVE VEGGIES & FISH, let broth simmer, until itreduces to 1 cup in volume. Mix the milk & flour untill smooth, add to boiling broth in ther pot. Cook over med. heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Add fish & veggies... serve.
