  • when I had to help pack my mom in our house and put her to bed after a long night of drinking and after leaving me home all night with no way to get a hold of her. Thankfully I had a great boyfriend ( husband now ) ( at 15 )

  • When I started taking care of my younger siblings at 9 years old because my mom was at work and my step dad was drunk and passed out.

  • I first felt my childhood going when I was about 6. My dad used to take my siblings and me to the grocery store on Sunday afternoons. We would hold onto the sides of the cart and ride around the store with him. On this day, he told me I was getting too big to ride on the grocery cart. I remember thinking, 'I guess I'm not a little kid anymore'.
